This Privacy Policy explains how Teachers’ Pantry (“we”, “us”, “our”), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, collects, uses and protects information when you visit teacherspantry.org (the “Site”), contact us, or offer to donate or become a sponsor.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use our contact or sponsorship forms, we collect the details you enter, such as your name, company name, email address, phone number, website address, sponsorship level and your message.
Donations. Online donations are processed by PayPal, and purchases from our Amazon wish list are handled by Amazon. We do not receive or store your card or bank details; those services handle your payment under their own privacy policies. We may receive your name, email address and donation amount so we can thank you and provide donation receipts.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers and security services record technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, the pages you request and the date and time. We use this to deliver and secure the Site.
Cookies. The Site uses only cookies that are needed for it to work and stay secure (for example, security and spam-protection cookies, and cookies set when you log in). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. Embedded content, such as the Google map on our Contact page, may set its own cookies.
How we use information
- To respond to your questions and sponsorship or donation offers.
- To thank donors and sponsors and provide donation receipts.
- To run, maintain and improve the Site and our programs.
- To protect the Site and our visitors against spam, fraud and abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
Service providers we use
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site, and only as needed for them to perform their service:
- Cloudflare – website delivery and security (all visits pass through Cloudflare).
- DigitalOcean – website hosting (United States).
- Twilio SendGrid – delivery of form notification emails.
- Google reCAPTCHA – protects our forms from automated abuse. Its use is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Wordfence – website security and firewall.
- Google Fonts and Google Maps – fonts and the map on our Contact page are loaded from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address.
- PayPal and Amazon – donations and wish-list purchases, under their own privacy policies.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
How long we keep information
We keep form submissions and donor records for as long as needed to respond to you, meet our record-keeping obligations as a nonprofit, and then delete them. Server and security logs are kept for a limited period and deleted on a rolling basis.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, firewalls and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for teachers, parents and supporters and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed.
